A collective students seminar entitled "Colloquium 2005 -Frontiers in Biotechnology & Bioinformatics"was held for the students of B.Tech Biotechnology, B.Tech Bioinformatics & M-Tech (Integrated) Biotechnology for both the 1st & the 3rd Semester students on the 12th Aug, 2005 in Gyanprasad. It was chaired by Dr. K.B Powar. Our Executive Director, Mr. Somnath. P. Patil , Registrar of the Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth Dr. Bhadane, Controller of Examinations Dr. Gaikwad were some of the dignitaries who were present. Students listed below gave scientific presentations with power point on hot topics in Biotechnology:

BBI-1st Semester Mayank Bedi- on 'Recombinant DNA Technology' and Nidhi Malviya and Deboshree Roy on 'Pros & Cons of Human Cloning'.

MIT-1st Semester Prashant Kumar-on 'Oncogenes' and Karan Agarwal- on 'Human Genome project'.

BBT-3rd Semester Rizwan Khan and Ketki Ganti -on 'Nanotechnology' and Neha Chaudhary and Veda Rana on 'Stem cell research'

BBI-3rd Semester Prakash Arun -on 'Scope of Bioinformatics' and Yogesh Pandit - on 'Biometrics'

MIT- 3rd Semester Shraddha Pandey on 'Intellectual property rights in biotechnology' and Kumar Abhishek -on 'Biotechnology in Forensic Sciences'.
